Mindfulness on the Tyne offers courses in Newcastle and North Tyneside, including:

8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction group programmes;

8 week course – Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction

Whitley Bay-  2018

The next 8 week evening course will be held in St Paul’s Parish Centre, Park View, Whitley Bay

Course dates: Thursdays 10th May, 17th May, 24th May (no session 31st May) 7th June, 14th June, 21st June, 28th June, 5th July 2018

There will be an all day practice at Newton and Bywell Community Hall from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 23rd June 2018

All evening sessions run from 6.45pm to 9pm

Flow and Slow Yoga and Mindfulness with Ucci Ask, Holly Greenwell and Elaine Young

Practice Groups in Newcastle and Whitley Bay

These practice groups are for “graduates” of the MBSR course, and a way to refresh and support ongoing practice. The sessions are small and welcoming, with people at all stages of developing mindfulness practice. Each session consists of some guided practice and teaching, and some time to discuss home practice, with suggestions and ideas to support you in bringing mindfulness to your daily life.

Weekend in the Country: a 2 Day Non-residential Rural Retreat

This non-residential rural retreat offers an ideal opportunity to step back from your regular daily routine and deepen and refresh your personal mindfulness practice. It is held in the beautiful and tranquil rural setting of Newton and Bywell Community Hall, near Stocksfield, just 15 miles from Newcastle.

A two day non-residential retreat is particularly suitable as an introduction for those who have never been on a retreat before and also for more experienced practitioners, whose home commitments make it difficult to go on residential retreat. The retreat is suitable for anyone who has attended an eight-week mindfulness-based course, or for those with equivalent experience of meditation.

Over the two days, we will practise together in silence, stillness and movement using the transitions of arriving and leaving, eating, and resting as part of the retreat, helping to bring practice right into the experience of everyday life. The retreat will include guided and silent practice, with periods of walking out in the beautiful rural surroundings of Newton and Bywell Community Hall. There will be sustained periods of silence to enable increased connection with inner experience. There will also be opportunities for group exchanges and the teachers will be available to talk to people individually.

 

Please note it is a requirement to attend both days of the retreat.

Cost £110 (including refreshments and vegetarian lunch on both days)

Bringing Mind and Body Together: Mindful Movement to Start the Day

Yogastation, Whitley Bay Metro Station.

This is a drop in session on Wednesday mornings from 6.45am to 7.45am. Cost £6 per session. All experience and abilities welcome.

****If you intend to come to a session please email or text (07949 467993) the night before to make sure that the class is running that week as I am away from time to time.

Gentle movement and mindfulness practices, designed for complete beginners who want to develop a mindful movement practice, or for those who want to add some balance and mindfulness to their existing active practice.
